Consulting services

Strategy, positioning, growth planning, channel advisory, measurement and fractional leadership. Independent counsel built around the decisions that move revenue.

Service I

Marketing strategy

A marketing strategy should answer four questions with conviction: who exactly are we for, why should they choose us, where will we reach them, and how will we know it is working. Most companies can answer one or two. Very few have all four written down and agreed across leadership.

We build that strategy from evidence, including customer interviews, competitive analysis, financial data and channel performance, then turn it into a twelve month operating plan with owners, budgets and metrics.

  • Comprehensive marketing audit and diagnosis
  • Customer research and ideal customer profiles
  • Competitive and market landscape analysis
  • Goals, targets and revenue linked metrics
  • Channel mix and budget allocation
  • Twelve month prioritized roadmap
  • Leadership alignment workshops
Service II

Brand positioning and messaging

When a company cannot explain in one sentence why a customer should choose it over the alternatives, every piece of marketing has to work twice as hard. Positioning is the most leveraged decision in marketing, and the one most often skipped.

We define the space you can own, articulate it in language customers respond to, and roll it out through sales, marketing and customer experience so the whole company tells the same story.

  • Positioning strategy and competitive differentiation
  • Value propositions by segment and buyer
  • Messaging architecture and proof points
  • Brand story and narrative development
  • Sales enablement messaging and talk tracks
  • Rebrand strategy and agency briefing
Service III

Growth planning

For moments when the stakes are higher than a normal year: entering a new market, launching a product, acquiring a company or pushing for a step change in revenue.

Market entry

Segment sizing, competitive mapping, go to market sequencing and launch plans for new geographies, verticals or customer groups.

Product launch

Positioning, pricing input, launch messaging, channel plans and readiness checklists that coordinate marketing, sales and operations.

Revenue modeling

Funnel models that connect budget to leads, pipeline and revenue, so growth targets are tested against what the numbers can really support.

Customer retention

Lifecycle and loyalty strategies that grow revenue from existing customers, usually the cheapest growth any company has available.

Merger integration

Brand architecture, customer communication and marketing team integration after an acquisition, so value is protected rather than confused.

Pricing and packaging

Research led recommendations on how offers are structured and presented, often the fastest route to better margins without more customers.

Service IV

Digital channel advisory

Most companies rely on agencies and platforms they cannot fully evaluate. Are the results good for your industry? Is the budget set sensibly? Is the agency doing what it is paid to do? We give you an independent expert view, with no incentive to sell you more media.

We review each channel, benchmark performance, recommend what to change, and help you select, brief and manage the partners who do the day to day work.

  • SEO and content performance reviews
  • Paid search and paid social account audits
  • Email and lifecycle marketing assessments
  • Website conversion and user experience review
  • Marketing technology and CRM advisory
  • Agency selection, contracts and oversight
Service V

Analytics and ROI

When leadership asks what marketing returned last quarter and nobody can answer with confidence, budgets get cut in the wrong places. Measurement is what earns marketing its seat at the table.

We design the framework that connects spend to pipeline and revenue, fix the data gaps that undermine it, and build reporting that leadership understands in minutes.

  • Measurement frameworks and KPI definition
  • Attribution approach and methodology
  • Analytics and CRM data audits
  • Leadership and board marketing dashboards
  • Budget efficiency and reallocation analysis
  • Quarterly performance reviews
Service VI

Fractional CMO

Senior marketing leadership on your executive team, one to three days a week, for a fraction of the cost and commitment of a full time chief marketing officer.

What a fractional CMO owns

  • Marketing strategy, plan and budget
  • Leadership team and board reporting
  • Agency and vendor selection and management
  • Marketing team hiring, structure and coaching
  • Brand, positioning and messaging decisions
  • Alignment between marketing and sales

When it is the right choice

  • Growing past the point where the founder can lead marketing
  • Between marketing leaders after a departure
  • Preparing for investment, acquisition or rapid scaling
  • Marketing team in place but lacking senior direction
  • Unsure whether a full time CMO is needed yet
  • Need a leader to recruit and onboard the permanent hire

Common questions

Before we speak

No, and that is intentional. We are independent advisors. We design the strategy, guide your team and help you choose and manage the agencies or freelancers who execute. Because we do not earn money from media spend, our advice is never skewed toward selling you more of it.

An agency is typically paid to produce activity within one or a few channels. A consultancy is paid to make decisions about the whole marketing function: what to do, what to stop doing, who should do it and how success is measured. Many clients use us to get more value from the agencies they already have.

Most clients are established companies with roughly five to two hundred and fifty million dollars in annual revenue, though we also advise well funded growth stage companies. The common thread is that marketing has become important enough to need senior strategic attention.

Yes. We advise companies across the United States. Workshops and key sessions can be held on site, with ongoing collaboration handled remotely through scheduled calls and shared workspaces.

Always. We are happy to sign a mutual non disclosure agreement before any substantive discussion, and we do not work with direct competitors of an active client in the same market.
