Results Disclaimer
What we can and cannot promise about marketing outcomes, and how to read any figures we discuss.
Last updated: September 19, 2026
Marketing consulting is sold with a lot of implied promises. This page states plainly what we do and do not guarantee, because a client who understands that from the beginning is a better client to work with.
1. No Guarantee Of Results
We do not guarantee any specific business outcome. That includes lead volume, sales, revenue, profit, market share, search rankings, website traffic, conversion rates, return on ad spend, cost per acquisition, social following or any other metric. We guarantee the work, the analysis, the deliverables and honest reporting on what happens.
2. Why We Cannot Guarantee Outcomes
Marketing sits upstream of a great many things we do not control:
- Your product or service quality and whether it delivers on the promise
- Your pricing relative to the value perceived by buyers
- Your sales team's ability to convert the demand generated
- Your operational capacity to serve new customers well
- Speed and quality of implementation by your team or agency
- Competitor behavior, including aggressive spending or price cuts
- Market conditions, seasonality and economic cycles
- Platform algorithm and policy changes
- Reputation factors including reviews and word of mouth
A strategy can be correct and still underperform if execution, product or timing works against it. That is the honest reality of the discipline.
3. Projections And Models
Any forecast, model or projection we prepare is based on assumptions documented within it, including conversion rates, average order value, close rates, cost per click and sales cycle length. Assumptions are estimates drawn from your historical data and industry benchmarks. Actual results will differ, frequently materially. Projections are planning tools for decision making, not forecasts, guarantees or investment advice, and they should not be presented to lenders or investors as assured outcomes.
4. Benchmarks And Industry Figures
Where we cite industry averages, benchmarks or typical ranges, those are general observations from published research and our own experience. They describe what is common, not what will happen in your business. Your market, customer base and execution may produce results well above or well below any benchmark.
5. Client Examples And Testimonials
Any client result, case example or testimonial referenced on this site or in conversation reflects the experience of a specific business in specific circumstances. Those results are not typical, not guaranteed and not a prediction of what your business will achieve. We do not publish client results without permission.
6. Timelines
Marketing rarely produces immediate results. Positioning and messaging improvements can affect conversion within weeks. Building demand generation from a standing start typically takes quarters. Organic search compounds over many months. Any timeline discussed is an expectation, not a commitment.
7. Advertising Spend
Where paid media is part of a strategy, advertising budgets are spent at risk. Campaigns can underperform, platforms can change costs and competition can drive prices up. We recommend budgets you can afford to test with, and we will never encourage spending at a level that puts the business at risk.
8. Your Decisions Remain Yours
We provide analysis and recommendations. Decisions about what to implement, how much to spend and what risks to accept remain entirely yours. We document our recommendations in writing so it is always clear what was advised, what was adopted and what was declined.
9. Regulated Industries
Clients in healthcare, legal, financial services and other regulated sectors remain responsible for the compliance of claims made about their own products and services. We build compliance considerations into strategy but we are not your regulatory counsel.
